Joseph Poots & Son Funeral Directors in Portadown have recently completed a thoughtful refurbishment of their premises on Bridge Street and welcomed new members to the team, as they continue to support families in the local community.
The refurbishment has been designed with families in mind, creating a more comfortable and modern environment while maintaining the warm and welcoming atmosphere the funeral home is known for. As part of the improvements, the funeral home now also offers live streaming services, allowing those who are unable to attend a service in person to take part and pay their respects from wherever they are.
Alongside the updated surroundings, the team at Joseph Poots & Son has grown in recent months. Long‑serving Senior Funeral Service Operative Cyril McConnell, who has been with the funeral home for almost 20 years, is now supported by several new colleagues.
Trainee Funeral Director Josh Toland joined the team last September. Living locally, Josh began his funeral training with James Brown & Sons in Belfast and is committed to supporting families with care, compassion and clear guidance during difficult times.
In February, Josh was joined by Funeral Service Operative Megan Thornbury and Receptionist Trina Forsey. Megan’s background in domiciliary care and Trina’s experience as a dental nurse and working in care homes mean they both bring valuable understanding, empathy and people skills to their roles, helping families feel supported from their first contact with the funeral home.
Josh said: “It’s a privilege to work for a funeral director that has been a trusted name in the community since 1933. Joseph Poots & Son continues to serve families with the same care, dignity and tradition established by the late Joseph Poots and his son Samuel, values which continue to guide everything we do today.”
While the premises have been refreshed and the team has grown, the values at Joseph Poots & Son remain unchanged – providing compassionate, professional support to families across Portadown and the surrounding areas.
